Product Description
The Toro 34-Inch TimeCutter Zero-Turn Riding Lawn Mower combines the maneuverability of a zero-turn platform with a compact 34-inch cutting deck designed for residential properties where storage space, gates, landscaping, and tighter mowing areas need to be considered.
The current Model 77301 is powered by a 22 HP Briggs & Stratton V-Twin gasoline engine with a published 724cc displacement. Its twin-cylinder engine configuration is paired with a dual hydrostatic drive system, allowing the rear drive wheels to be independently controlled through the mower’s dual steering levers.
A key feature of the mower is its 34-inch IronForged® fabricated deck. The current 77301 configuration uses heavy fabricated steel construction and a two-blade cutting system. Its relatively narrow deck makes the mower better suited to spaces where wider 42-, 50-, or 54-inch zero-turn machines may have difficulty passing through gates or between landscape features.
The cutting-height system provides a range of approximately 1.5 to 4.5 inches, allowing the deck to be configured for different maintained-grass heights.
Toro’s Smart Speed® Control System provides three selectable ground-speed ranges:
- Trim
- Tow
- Mow
This allows ground speed to be matched to the mower’s current task while maintaining blade operation. Toro’s official operator manual confirms these three Smart Speed ranges for Model 77301.
Maximum forward travel speed is approximately 7 MPH, while the dual-hydrostatic layout provides the independent wheel control required for zero-turn steering.
The mower also incorporates a step-through front-end layout, making entry and exit more direct than designs that require the operator to step around a larger deck. An under-seat storage cubby and built-in cup holder provide additional storage and convenience.
Toro equips the TimeCutter with a padded high-back operator seat and wrap-around motion-control levers. The compact chassis is approximately 75 inches long, while Toro’s current operator manual lists the 34-inch 77301 at approximately 496 lb.
With its compact overall configuration and zero-turn steering, the 34-inch TimeCutter is intended primarily for maintained residential lawns. Toro’s product information positions the 34-inch platform for residential mowing applications of up to approximately 2 acres, depending on terrain, obstacles, grass conditions, and mowing pattern.

The current Toro 77301 uses:
Engine Brand: Briggs & Stratton
Configuration: V-Twin
Engine Power: 22 HP

The current 77301 should not be confused with the older discontinued Model 75734, which used a 22 HP Kohler 725cc engine.
Important Variant Accuracy
For Model 77301, use:
22 HP Briggs & Stratton / 724cc
Do not use:
22 HP Kohler / 725cc
That specification belongs to discontinued Model 75734.

The mower uses a:
34 in. / 86 cm IronForged® Fabricated Deck
with:
Two Cutting Blades

The compact cutting width allows the mower to work in areas where larger zero-turn decks can be less convenient.
Deck Construction
The current 77301 configuration is published with a heavy fabricated IronForged deck.
