The Cub Cadet XT1 LT42 IntelliPOWER® Riding Lawn Mower combines a compact 42-inch cutting deck, foot-controlled hydrostatic transmission, and Cub Cadet’s electronically governed 547cc IntelliPOWER engine in a versatile residential lawn-tractor platform.

Power comes from a Cub Cadet AX90H0 547cc single-cylinder gasoline engine. Rather than relying only on a traditional mechanical governor, this engine incorporates IntelliPOWER® technology with an electronic governor designed to maintain more consistent engine output as mowing load changes. This can help the engine respond when encountering heavier or denser grass.

The engine uses full-pressure lubrication, includes an oil filter, and is paired with a regulated 15-amp charging system. Fuel is supplied through a carburetor, while Choke-a-matic operation simplifies normal starting. The mower carries a 3.0-gallon fuel tank.

Power is transferred to the rear wheels through a Tuff Torq® TL-200 hydrostatic transmission. Instead of manually selecting gears, ground speed is controlled with a foot pedal. Maximum published travel speed is approximately 5.5 MPH forward and 3 MPH in reverse.

The mowing system centers around a 42-inch stamped deck constructed from 13-gauge steel. Two cutting blades provide the full 42-inch cut, while the deck can be positioned through 12 cutting-height settings between 1 and 4 inches. Two gauge wheels help reduce scalping on changes in lawn contour.

A standard deck-wash connection provides a convenient point for attaching a garden hose when cleaning grass buildup from beneath the mower deck according to the manufacturer’s maintenance procedures.
